Place and time of creation: The painting was created by the english artist Jurita Kalite (Kalitis) (in the future called as “Jurita”). Jurita’s art studio in London UK, November 2019.

Provenance Information

In the Southeastern part of the historic center of Old Riga, along the Peitavas iela and the Alksnāja iela, there are a number of old merchant and storage warehouses with hoist of 17th century. Some of them have been restored, while others are still in various states of decay.
Here Jurita tried to convey to the viewer the historical atmosphere of the city from the 17th century.

Has a cultural art collection value.

About Jurita

Jurita is a web design professional who id devoted to the arts. London based artist, Jurita, was born in 1966 and has roots in USSR.

After early adult years living, working and painting in Europe, she arrived to the London where she focused on painting and mixed media.

Having earned a Certificate in University of Tel Aviv, she continues to learn about Fine Art and design in University of the Arts London and on courses throughout London and Europe she studied in Ms Francine Bekker and Mr Sergey Minin Class of Art (start in 2016-current).

She founded Lady Ju Gallery in 2016 and has since been involved in the development of the gallery and the integration of new technologies in the art field. Her experience working in galleries includes liaising with artists and their representatives, sales, social media promotion and organising exhibitions. She is inspired by working with artists – their passion fuels her own.
